My tables are heavy and difficult to move arround. I've been trying to find something smaller that I can have fun making and selling without as much effort. These 6 x 10" wall hangs are my latest attempt.
I get thin sheets of sandstone from quarries in Lyons Colorado, near the quarries where the sandstone for the iconic University of Colorado campus originated. I have them cut into the silhouette of a buffalo, which is the mascot of the University of Colorado. Did I tell you I'm a CU alum? The backing is cut from a sheet of 1/4 plywood that is painted black. In the first batch I have included thin wire for wall hanging.
I call them buffalo chips. If you have a better name for them, I'd love to hear it.
These are perfect for gifts or graduation pressents.
