I use several large slabs of thin sandstone each year in making my tables. I found this stone in a mud pile from the 2013 flood at one of the quarries I use in Lyons Colorado. When I got it home and powerwashed it, I found the rippled surface you see. Its pretty, but not compatible with the other stones I have in stock. I then noticed the shape resembling the state of Nevada, and the recycled base I had waiting for a top. So I glued the thin slab on a piece of plywood, put a rim on it, and grouted between the rim and the stone.
The result is this striking coffe, side, or entry way table! It would really look nice in your house.
