I've only made two tables that have not included stone tops. This is the remaining table of a pair. I regularly check garage sales for table bases and stumpled on a pair of 1910 era truck tire rims with wooden spokes. They are heavy cast metal and include a large brake drum. The welding technology at the time was not up to handling the stresses between the spokes and and rim.....By the early 1920's it was and wooden rimmed wheels died.
The table is three parts. A removeable wooden base with three steel hairpin legs that fits into the brake drum and the glass top that sits on rubber gasgets fitted through original holes in the rim.
Its for sale, with free delivery in Colorado.
