I found some very nice slabs of petrified wood from Madagasgar at the Denver Gem and Mineral show a couple of years ago. I've made several tables using them. This was the first. At the time I was putting all of my tables on steel hairpin legs and using rusted whiskey barrel hoops as rims. Since then I've found a source of recycled steel bases and learned how to make rims of different sizes and shapes than are available in used whiskey barrel hoops!
I still have a couple of slabs of petrified wood from Madagasgar and would love to make a table for you.
