In the 60's I was in school in Boulder. One my room mates and I made tables for fun one summer (I still have the table). Later when I was maried and in graduate school I made my second, whichI still have. I breifly thought about making tables for a living, but sanity prevailed. I worked the next 40 years exploring the space enviorment arround the Earth. In 2010 my work was winding down and I was going to half time. I remembered how much fun it was to make tables and thought a lot about it.
I found the petrified wood slabs at various rock shops and the wooden base at a local thrift shop. My son, who likes to work with wood, was visiting so we bought a router and he cut out an 1/8" depression for each of the petrified wood slabs to sit in.
Since then I've made over 70 tables. I'd love to make one for you.
